Somewhere in England (9/2009) Attempt at a landscape :-)
I love the smell of old books, many of them own. I never can resist entry into the secondhand book store and never not leaving empty-handed. I guess I would happier if I owned such a beautiful shop, and was employed there. I have a wide and varied selection. The travelogue through the art books and biographies, old novels.
In the book, the UK, I fell in love with photography and decided to paint it.
That too failed. Once I have time, I'll try it again. Mainly to learn more.

Your work is beautiful! I look forward to coming aback and seeing more. I am like you with the books! I always thought a dream business would be a bookstore that sold art that was on the walls of the store. And of course, a bit of tea or coffee and a couple of baked goods...a couple of overstuffed chairs...Sigh...my thoughts run away with me.
Wonderful painting. Great transition between the light and shadows.
Thank you AutumnLeaves. Using a beautiful name. Represents the most beautiful color for me:). Always pleased when a soul mate will appear with the same dreams. Maybe we have some dreams come true. At least part of them.
Thank you William for your kind words. Have a nice day to you.
This painting has some wonderful qualities, J.B. The soft, slightly brooding sky and atmosphere in the distant hills are well done. I also like the way the rower draws the eye, although small and the color variations in the foliage. Please don't say it has failed when there is so much to admire.
Thanks Mary. I'm trying to be hard on yourself. I think it's needed, so one could move forward. Frankly, I'm not happy with any painting that I did. Just sometimes, I am happy. This is when I feel like I've surpassed my abilities.
I am so sorry that I live in an area where there is no Lector. I would much there really wanted to study art. Understand him more. Basics to learn ... and not much else I wanted to know. Thousands of questions challenging me. Know the answer for me has always been very important. And here I am illiterate ... just a nobody
Jana, this painting is beautiful! You take the eye into the space slowly and handled the distant mountains and trees beautifully! Great atmosphere. That lone rower for me gives the painting a sense of mystery - why's he alone? Where's he going? This keeps us looking at the painting and isn't that evidence of it's success?
Thank you Rosemary. Can you see the picture better than I do. Perhaps I paint instinctively, rather than from any plan. I'm very happy that you liked the rower. He is not on the photo. Otherwise, I basically copied. Thanks and have a nice day.
Beautiful rich earth tones. Such a beautiful painting.
I really like that painting brings
happiness and relaxation to your life. I think that's one of the main reasons we all paint. Keep on painting and enjoying!
